Hold on to Rumawip units
THOSE who were successful in securing condo units under the Federal Territories Affordable Homes Programme (Rumawip) should hold on to their units and not sell them to others after the 10-year moratorium.

Federal Territories Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor said those who were fortunate to purchase a Rumawip should ensure the property remained with the next generation.

“I would advise the buyers to abide by a 10-year moratorium that we have set.

“Even after the expiration of the moratorium, keep this property because the benefits are not for us but for the future of our children and grandchildren.

“So far, we have achieved a total of 52,562 units or 65% of the overall target of 80,000 units. I hope others can emulate Uda Holdings Bhd and Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) in developing affordable housing,” said Tengku Adnan.

Amin Nordin, Dr Shafei, Loga Bala and chief secretary Datuk Seri Adnan Ikshan launching Legasi Residensi, the Rumawip project in Kampung Baru.

He was speaking at the launch of Legasi Residensi, a Rumawip project involving 206 condo units developed by Uda Holdings in Kampung Baru, last week.

The Legasi Residensi consists of 206 units, measuring 807sq ft with three bedrooms and two bathrooms sold at RM300,000.00 per unit.

It has been categorised as a “transit oriented development” due to its strategic location next to the Putra LRT station in Kuala Lumpur as well as access to the Akleh highway.

Rumawip is a government initiative targeting the development of 80,000 housing units throughout Kuala Lumpur in the span of five years.

The condominium is fully equipped with standard amenities such as playground, sauna, gym, swimming pool, library, convenience store, BBQ area, function room and kindergarten.

Also present were Federal Territories deputy minister Datuk Dr Loga Bala Mohan, Kuala Lumpur mayor Datuk Amin Nordin Abd Aziz, Uda Holdings chairman Datuk Dr Shafei Abdullah.
